Lecturer, Forest Bioeconomy

Herrick Fox is a forester and public policy leader who until last year served as the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Bioeconomy Coordinator, representing USDA on the White House National Bioeconomy Board.

With more than 30 years of experience spanning the USDA and U.S. Forest Service, the U.S. Senate Committee on Agriculture, international forestry research, and bioeconomy entrepreneurship, Rick brings deep insight into how forest policy and markets can expand woody biomass value chains and biobased manufacturing.

Alongside his work at UC Berkeley, Rick currently advises multilateral bioeconomy initiatives with FAO, IUFRO, the European Commission, and other organizations.
