Research Landscape Ecologist USDA Forest Service​​​​​​​

Paul Hessburg is a Senior Research Ecologist with Forest Service R&D and affiliate Full Professor at four western US and Canadian universities. He is the 2022- 2024 President of the International Association of Fire Ecology (AFE) and his research explores wildfire and climate change effects on landscape dynamics, as well as the structure and organization of historical, current, and future landscape resilience, among other things. Paul is keenly interested in partnering with public and private entities to advance the work of ecological restoration and climate change adaptation, and to advance stronger science and management partnerships.
