Erik Willén is Manager Precision Forestry at Stora Enso, a leading provider of renewable products in packaging, biomaterials, and wooden construction. Our Precision forestry program aims in providing frequently updated high quality forest data for forest operations and biodiversity.
With more than 25 years of experience in digitalization of remote sensing, forest planning and operations Erik has a profound knowledge of how geospatial data can support forestry. Previously acting as a digitalization manager at the forestry research institute Erik was driving the joint Swedish forestry digitalization efforts getting a broad state-of-the-art in the R&D and operations domain. Earlier Erik was managing the remote sensing branch of a service provider focusing of nature resources in the Nordics and introduced satellite remote sensing to several forest organizations in Sweden. Erik holds a M.Sc. in forestry from the agricultural sciences in Umeå, Sweden and is a fellow of The Royal Swedish Academy of Agriculture and Forestry.
