They have half of Earth's species, regulate climate, are a source of food and valuable products, and give us half of our medicines."

David Seaborg is an evolutionary biologist who does scientific research on evolutionary theory. He has written two significant books on his important hypothesis that all species are ecosystem engineers that make their ecosystem better for life and increase biodiversity in natural environments over sufficient time. The hypothesis states that life made the Earth better for life and life increases biodiversity. Organisms created the soil and an atmosphere high in oxygen, and regulate climate, making it favorable to life.

He showed that organisms evolve by feedback and that the genetic code is not optimal for evolution. David Seaborg is a distinguished, active environmental leader, who founded and is President of the World Rainforest Fund (worldrainforest.org), a nonprofit foundation dedicated to saving the Earth’s tropical rainforests and biodiversity. This organization set the record for the most species saved per dollar when it saved a 10,000-acre rainforest in Ecuador that has the highest biodiversity of any ecosystemon Earth. It spends 95% of the donations it receives on saving rainforest. He convinced the Berkeley City Council to pass an ordinance stopping the use of wood from rainforests and old-growth redwood forests in city projects. He wrote a popular poetry book called Honor Thy Sow Bug
