Founder of Cross Check Services & Alpenglow Timber
David Mercer is the Founder of Cross Check Services and Alpenglow Timber. He is a lifelong North Tahoe resident and Licensed Timber Operator with over 30 years of hands-on experience in forestry, logging, and forest restoration across the Sierra Nevada. His work focuses on sustainable forest restoration and responsible land management, delivering projects for organizations including the U.S. Forest Service, The Nature Conservancy, and regional agencies and landowners.
In 2022, he launched Alpenglow Timber, a sawmill initiative designed to create a local, sustainable supply of forest products from fuel reduction and forest health projects - helping connect restoration efforts with regional economic development.
