Dean of the Rausser College of Natural Resources at UC Berkeley
David Ackerly is the Dean of the Rausser College of Natural Resources at UC Berkeley. He holds joint appointments in Integrative Biology and Environmental Science, Policy, and Management. His research focuses on climate change and biodiversity, with an emphasis on California’s native plants.
Rausser College brings together five departments focused on biosciences, food and health, natural resource stewardship, and solutions to global climate challenges.
David is a Fellow of the California Academy of Sciences and the Ecological Society of America and a recipient of the Distinguished Faculty Mentor Award. He holds degrees from Yale University and Harvard University and has been a faculty member at UC Berkeley since 2005.
